Not Going Out

  • 4th Jun, 2009 at 10:53 AM
Mac
Well for a moment there it looked like I might actually be able to attend this weekend's Maelstrom.

It is not to be.

We got closer than we have done since mum's stay in hospital though, so maybe next time.

It will be a shame not to see you :(

Hope that long-term health is improving fast, though!

Dude are you still in the South East, as I thinking if the moutain won't come to the Mohammed then Mohammed must go to the mountain :). Would visitors to take you out to the pub one day be welcome?

Oh I'm not trapped in the house by any means, it's just my absence over a night that causes mum anxiety. As long as I'm in the house when she wakes up all is fine. This does, however, make visits further afield than, say Brighton, problematic ... and drinking is right out.

Well if you can escape to Brighton, let me know if you are up for a sojourn. XXX

Why thank you, sounds like a fine idea.

*Wonders if s0b and jul1et could be persuaded to venture sarf of the river*

I am sure they can. Si has popped down here quite a bit in recent months. You would all be welcome! :o)

Even if I do call it Brighton with my external voice I will be saying "London-on-sea" inside my head.

Reminds me of a conversation I overheard back on one of my last visits 'home' (I do find myself missing Brighton, which surprises me sometimes).

"Eeets nah good, dem Lahndahn boys commin dahn e're and showing Broitahn nah respect."

A point somewhat undermined by the most outrageous Estuarine accent :) (I'm guilty of Estuary English myself but Dad at least had a Sussex burr)

That's a shame - was hoping to chat about Odditey (sorry) at some OOC point.
